Please help keep our coastal community safe with NCI Mablethorpe. Your donation really does make a difference.
Our beautiful Mablethorpe coastline is the heart of our community, but keeping it safe requires constant vigilance. The National Coastwatch Institution is run 100% by dedicated volunteers who stand watch to protect beachgoers, walkers, mariners and lives at sea.
We have recently moved into our fantastic, fully equipped new station, and we need passionate local people like you to join our growing team.
"No maritime experience is required, just a desire to make a real difference to your community."
Protect your community: your time on watch directly helps the Coastguard and emergency services save lives.
Learn new skills: we provide full, comprehensive training in maritime navigation, radio protocols, chart work, and using state-of-the-art radar and AIS tracking equipment.
Join a fantastic team: become part of a friendly, dedicated group of local volunteers who share a passion for our coast.
Total flexibility: all we ask is that you can commit to 12 hours a month. You can choose and book your own shifts online using Find my Shift, to fit around your lifestyle.
Fantastic perks: after just 3 months of volunteering with us, you can apply for a Blue Light Card, giving you access to thousands of discounts online and on the high street.
As a visual watchkeeper, you will spend a few hours a week in our station looking out over the sea and shore. You'll log vessel movements, monitor weather conditions, listen to marine radio channels, and spot potential hazards before they become emergencies.
We would love to welcome you to the team. To find out more, arrange a casual visit to the station, or get an application form, get in touch with our local team today:
